Friends Online will be offered this Summer!
Developed initially as an in-school program, the CanLearn Friends program was for children in grades 4-6 to support them in managing their emotions, strengthening their relationships, and improving their behaviour.
In response to the COVID-19 crisis and with school cancelled, we wanted to find a way to continue to work with kids on these essential skills while they’re at home.
We are excited to announce that we are offering the CanLearn Friends program online in a one-on-one setting!
Children and their parents will be provided with an engaging and individualized learning experience and will learn and practice skills related to:
- Coping with anxiety and worry
- Managing their emotions
- Communicating well with others
- Thinking positively
- Being a good problem solver
- Dealing with cyberbullying and online safety
- Relaxation and mindfulness
- Adjusting to learning from home
- Supporting positive behaviours
This is also an opportunity for parents to receive support and to learn strategies to help their children during this challenging time. A maximum of 8 one-hour sessions will be offered to each family (weekly or bi-weekly).
There are a limited number of spots for this program, and we are offering this on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Location: Telehealth video-conferencing. Participants must have a computer with a camera and a microphone to access the sessions.
Dates and Times: July – August 2020
To register, give us a call at 403-686-9300 ext. 102. If you would like to find out more about CanLearn Friends, contact Jaime Gaber by email.
