Attention Clinic

Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) Diagnosis

When we are looking at a diagnosis of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), we use a best practice plan by using several ways to determine this diagnosis.

CanLearn’s Attention Clinic’s diagnostic team consists of:

  • Psychologists
  • Pediatricians (for children)
  • A Psychiatrist (for adults)

What is Involved?

Initial Meeting
  • The parents or caregivers and the child or the adult meet with the Attention Clinic team to review the collected information
  • Diagnosis is considered
  • Information about treatment options is reviewed (such as medication, behavioural strategies, etc.)
Follow-up Meetings
  • If wanted follow-up meetings are offered with the Attention Clinic team to complete a medication trial and discuss behavioural strategies

Sometimes a learning assessment/psychoeducational assessment for children or a learning assessment/psychoeducational assessment for adults is required to explore additional learning needs.
