FREE Social Skills Groups and 1:1 Classes for Kids and Teens

Is your child or teen struggling with social skills and making friends? CanLearn Friends is a FREE program where children and teens can have fun while learning and practicing skills to help build friendships and manage emotions in a one-on-one or group setting.

Children with attention and learning issues or those who struggle with anxiety and friendships may be particularly vulnerable to the distress caused by the ongoing covid-19 pandemic. We are here to help!

The CanLearn Friends program is designed to help children and teens learn skills to be successful and apply them in everyday life. In the program, children can expect to work on things like:

  • recognizing and managing emotions
  • coping skills
  • communication
  • assertiveness
  • conversation skills
  • making and keeping friends
  • learning to think in positive and helpful ways
  • dealing with problems
  • handling bullying

Confidence-building, calming techniques and mindfulness are key areas of focus in the program. Through a combination of meaningful discussions, role-playing, games and activities, children learn strategies and skills in a fun and interactive way. We recognize the importance of parents in children’s learning and we will provide many ideas and suggestions on how to generalize and practice the skills outside of the sessions.

CanLearn Friends is a high-demand program and there are a limited number of spots available. We are running weekly 1:1 classes and groups throughout the year with a range of times to suit families’ needs and schedules. Spots will be offered on a first-come, first-serve basis.
