Who We Are

ADHD and learning disabilities

Changing lives through learning. Our team of psychologists, physicians, and literacy specialists help children, youth, and adults unlock their learning potential.

Our History

CanLearn started as a consortium. In the 1970’s a group of concerned parents came together to better understand why their children of average or greater intelligence were struggling in school and at life. This group attracted the Children’s Hospital, School Boards, Kinsmen, the University of Calgary, Alberta Education and the Learning Disabilities Association.

The group incorporated in 1979 and was known as the Calgary Learning Centre eventually becoming The CanLearn Society in 2013.

We have continued to grow and evolve, expanding our services to include literacy programs for families. Our program offerings have changed throughout the years but our assessment work and commitment to helping individuals with literacy, learning and attention challenges remains the same.

What We Do: ADHD and Learning

At CanLearn Society, we have many services to help children, teens and adults with ADHD and learning disabilities. Our team helps positive change happen!

Family Literacy Programs at CanLearn help parents gain a better understanding of how children learn. We teach them how to incorporate language and literacy into everyday activities, and we give them strategies so they can succeed with the important job of being their child’s first and best teacher.
